This nation was built by the power of hope. No painter ever set brush to canvas, no writer ever set pen to paper, no builder ever set brick on brick, and no enterpriser ever built an enterprise without having hope that he or she could do what they were dreaming of doing. We have not begun to fathom the power of hope in creating better lives for ourselves and our children. (Lewis Smedes.“Keep Hope Alive,” Preaching Today, Tape No. 139.) Romans 4:18; Romans 8:24;
God’s church is built on Hope. No church can build a foundation, no message can be preached, and no souls can be changed for the Kingdom without having hope that he or she could do what they were dreaming of doing for God.   Hope is the foundation to faith, love, and joy.  Christ gives us hope in those things we cannot see, a love for those things un-lovable, joy in the darkest of places. Hope will help fathers to be re-united with their children, drug addicts to be delivered, restore marriages  from the brink of divorce, and revive churches from their ruins Romans 15:4; 1 Peter 3:15.
It is not the way we deal with our human situation that is the basis for hope—hope is the basis for how we deal with our human situation. Jesus can instill a hope even in the most pessimistic heart.  With hope we can see God do wonderful things in our lives. Join with me this week by asking God to instill hope in us so we can see his vision fulfilled for ROA.
We must remember God gave us hope through his son “Jesus Christ”. Let us not take hope for granted. Reach for a higher calling; fulfill God’s purpose by leaning on his command to bring hope to the entire world. “Faith is the evidence of things hoped for…” Your Faith will not work if you don’t have hope for the Impossible. What the world states cannot be done Christians do through hope, faith, and love.
